Dinner was really good
- The nice building is not well maintained (I.e. the rooftop is dusty, almost if no one ever stepped foot there for months)
- Pricey for what you get overall
KumarIndiaEnjoyed my stay at Zhiwaling. Will stay again if opportunity for travel to Thimpu arises.
The staff is very courteous and helpful. Cleanliness is top class. Location is superb.
No Gym . A small work desk inside the room can be helpful.

JulietUnited StatesZhiwaling Ascent is a beautiful hotel nestled amongst beautiful trees with lovely views, great staff
Everyone was so helpful and kind. It was also easy to communicate as everyone spoke English! The room itself was spacious and comfortable which was great after all the travel from the the US. The food in the restaurant…
LisettePeruNice place, a bit overpriced.
Personnel where very collaborative and tried to help. I had a problem with some oil dripping inside my suitcase and everyone was willing to help.
It is a bit far away from downtown Thimpu.
I would have appreciated more…

What we’d check for you here
- How many rooms they will hold at once, for how long, and on what terms.
- That the desk is staffed when you land, and that the room is held past cut-off.
- Whether there is room for a pickup, a trailer or a van, not just a car.
- Whether breakfast is in the rate or added at checkout, and what time it runs.
- Whether the rate moves for your dates, and what it includes.
- What the property actually charges at the desk on top of the rate.
Questions about Zhiwaling Ascent
What time is check-in and check-out at Zhiwaling Ascent?
Check-in is from 12:00 PM. Check-out is by 12:00 PM. If you're arriving late, tell us and we'll ask the property to hold the room.
Does Zhiwaling Ascent allow pets?
No — the property states that pets are not allowed.
Is there parking at Zhiwaling Ascent?
Parking is listed among the property's facilities. Whether it's free and whether a space can be reserved varies, so we check it against your dates rather than promise it here.
Is breakfast included at Zhiwaling Ascent?
Breakfast is offered at the property. Whether it's included depends on the rate — the board type is shown on each room once you put your dates in.
Can I book a block of rooms at Zhiwaling Ascent?
The property lists meeting and banquet space, which usually means it handles group business — but how many rooms it will hold at once, for how long, and at what rate are set case by case and are not in any feed. Tell us the dates and the number of rooms and we'll get those terms from the property in writing before anything is charged.
Can I check in late at Zhiwaling Ascent?
The property lists a front desk staffed 24 hours, so a late arrival should be possible. Standard check-in is from 12:00 PM. Rooms are still released after a cut-off at some properties regardless of the desk hours, so tell us your arrival time and we'll have them hold it.
How do I book Zhiwaling Ascent?
Put your dates in above and book online, or call (888) 789-8585 and we'll do it for you — including things a booking form can't handle, like a block of rooms, a monthly rate or an invoice for your employer.
